A classic and elegant 11oz ceramic white mug with the maritime history of the nautical term 'Three sheets to the wind' originating from the 19th century. On sailing ships, the 'sheets' were the ropes that were attached to the corners of each sail providing control over the amount of wind each sail was catching. Ships would typically have three sails. If the first sail lost its tautness, the ship would lose stability. If two sails were lost, she would pitch and yaw from side to side, and with three sails lost to the wind, the ship would lose total control of direction and speed, behaving like an intoxicated sailor on a drunken night ashore with shipmates.
Each 11oz mug comes with a full top-to-bottom image reproduced with crisp, sharp, vibrant clarity, protected by a polished ceramic glaze. This custom mug comes in a pure white gloss colour. Our ceramic mugs are extremely durable, microwave, and dishwasher-safe, as well as both scratch and chip-resistant.
