A classic and elegant ceramic maritime history mug, with the nautical term ' Money for old rope' Hemp rope on sailing ships, had a limited lifespan. When it wore out it was picked apart and recycled by the ship's crew. One common use for old rope was (oakum) used for 'deck caulking' (waterproofing of the deck planks) Oakum also had uses ashore. Bookbinders would pulp the rope to make (millboard) for use as book covers. Sailors could make easy money for very little effort, by selling old rope.
Each 11oz mug comes with a full top-to-bottom image reproduced with crisp, sharp, vibrant clarity, protected by a polished ceramic glaze. This custom mug comes in a pure white gloss colour.
